Lately I’ve been making this hot tonic like a madwoman and I just couldn’t help but share. It’s so earthy and delicious and it’s making me feel really good when I’m feeling otherwise tired and run down. It’s satisfying my chocolate craving without sugar, and my comfort craving because it’s warm and grounding. It’s so simple, I can’t believe it’s real. I think it’s doing good things for me.
Why?
Cacao: It’s chocolate, yo.
Maca: A root from the Andes that is considered an “adaptogen,” – it can help your body to adapt to stress, balance hormones and help combat fatigue.
Vitamineral Earth: High in antioxidants, healing herbs and grounding superfoods.
Cinnamon: Lowers blood sugar response to food, tastes delicious and makes everything epic.
I call it a tonic because I didn’t use any fats or fruits in it, just powders, so it’s more of a tea/tonic than a smoothie.
The ingredients:
- 1-2 cups hot water
- 1 tsp cacao powder
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 1 tsp Vitamineral Earth powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- It doesn’t even really need sweetener, but if you wanna sweeten it, use 1-2 drops liquid stevia OR a tiny bit of raw honey, whatever you prefer.
Directions:
Heat water on stove. Put all ingredients into blender. Blend. Drink. :)
EASY! And delish.
Thank you, Lizzie May, for introducing me to Vitamineral Earth!
