Hey snug bugs –
I thought it would be nice to write something a little more light hearted today. I hope you’re up for that. :)
Last night I went to an awesome and really inspirational talk by my dear friend Gabby Bernstein, put on by Philosophy, and the topic was called Hope Never Rests.
I took notes (as I have been at almost every Gabby event since 2007…not kidding, and I even still get teary eyed at every single one).
You may think that after all these years I’d have this stuff down, but every time I hear one of Gabby’s talks I get re-inspired and I always hear something I need to hear. Perhaps it’s because she’s the one who initially introduced me to self-improvement work at a time when I really needed it, so I have a soft spot in my heart for her talks and I definitely always will.
What do I mean when I say re-inspired? Well, it actually feels more like a remembering. That’s a good way to put it. It’s a remembering that the way we think about things really does create our experience. That there are creative possibilities everywhere. That we don’t know everything. That asking for help and letting go can make a huge difference.
One of the focuses of the night was getting clear about what we want to bring into our lives in the new year, but then shifting our perception about it and letting go of the way we *think* we need things to go.
I just wanted to share some of my favorite quotes from the talk. I hope they make you feel good. :)
When you’re stuck in a mindset that feels frustrating, discouraging or just not fun, it’s helpful to say:
“There has to be a be a better way. Thank you for guiding me to solutions beyond my logical mind. I open up to creative possibilities.”
I LOVED that — because we’re always trying to figure out everything logically, but the truth is there are many things we don’t know for sure, and there are so many awesome possibilities that could happen in our lives that we could NEVER dream up ourselves. If you begin to surrender the way you think it has to go, and open yourself up to new possibilities that you had never considered before…well, magic can happen, my friends. :)
If you ever think to yourself, “this makes no sense logically…but it feels really good,” pay attention. Sometimes we can be surprised by the things that actually make us happy that are totally different than what we thought we wanted. Stay open.
Witness your fear and uncertainty. Fear devours hope. Say, “I choose to see hope instead of this.”
Get crystal clear on what you want, and then hold your visions with a sense of freedom, certainty and relaxation. “Those who are certain of the outcome can afford to wait, and wait without anxiety.” -A Course in Miracles
And, as she reminded us — what we really want is happiness and peace. :) RIGHT!?
This was possibly my favorite takeaway of the night..
Dwell in the energy of joy. Dwelling in the energy of joy is the greatest way to attract what you desire. Dwell in the energy of what you long for. Spend time with people who are dwelling in joy.
Gabby also commented that the key to living a life beyond your wildest dreams is having a meditation practice. I really need to get better about that!! I’m learning a ton in my Bulletproof mindfulness training about how much more powerful we are when we can approach life from a state of presence. Will write more on that soon.
If you want to watch part of Gabby’s talk that was recorded on Periscope, you can check it out here.
If you want more of this and you’re ready for some renewal and miracles in 2016, you might like to check out Gabby’s May Cause Miracles course. It’s really awesome and the perfect way to get yourself into the habit of shifting your mindset every single day.
I hope you found a tidbit here that gave you a happy feeling.
Happy feelings are the best.
Love you guys. :)

I went to a Gabrielle Bernstein event this time one year ago now. I loved being in her prescence, and will hopefully get to meet her again/go to one of her events in the near future again. I’ve read May Cause Miracles 2-3 times….and loved the shifts that occurred. It’s a great starting point. She has a high-vibe spiritual presence, and wore a crazy Feng Shui mirror necklace at her seminar saying it was to ‘reflect people’s energy back on to them’…meaning…how you perceive her, the energy that you send her is reflected back to you. I thought she was awesome. Lucky you :-).
