Do you ever wake up and have one of those days where everything feels hard, you feel sluggish, have no motivation, and generally feel “blah” about life?
If not, good for you. You don’t need this blog. The rest of you, keep reading.
Lately one thing that really helps me feel better is taking a walk and listening to music. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Whether I’m walking through the crowded streets of Manhattan, the hills of Los Angeles, the quiet, woodsy streets near my parents house in MA, or any other place…walking + music is super healing. It can make me feel like a new person.
I’ve been noticing which songs are the best “pick me up” songs – the ones I keep going back to. They lift my mood and rev me up, even when I wake up feeling less than awesome. Honestly, I think music is an anti-depressant.
So today I realized I can’t keep all these good feelings to myself. So I’m sharing the playlist with you. I named it “step back from that ledge, my friend.” :)
If you have Spotify (which you should because it RULES), you can listen to and subscribe to my playlist here. That’s where I’ll keep updating it and adding new songs as I think of them.
If you don’t have Spotify and just want to preview/purchase the individual tracks, here’s the list and the track links.
Love Is My Religion: Ziggy Marley
The Fighter – Gym Class Heroes
Make You Feel Better – Red Hot Chili Peppers
Into The Groove – Ziggy Marley
Giggling Again For No Reason – Alanis Morissette
Brave New Girl – Britney Spears
Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall – Coldplay
Incomplete – Alanis Morissette
I’m sure I left a lot of gems off this list, but I just came up with it pretty quickly.
Do you have any songs that lift you up and make you motivated, confident, ready for the day?? Please share in the comments….and I’ll add them to my playlist :)
