The weather is getting colder – that means it’s oatmeal time! I love a bowl of warm oatmeal for breakfast on a cold day. Yesterday I was cooking up some oatmeal and realized I didn’t have any of my normal oatmeal toppings on hand (usually sliced bananas, almond butter, or berries). I looked through the cabinet to see what I could add in, and created the perfect sweet & crunchy bowl!
Ingredients (per bowl of oatmeal):
- Plain oatmeal (whatever kind of oats you like)
- 2 dates, pits removed
- Sprinkling of pumpkin seeds
- Drizzle of maple syrup
- Splash of almond milk
- Sprinkling of cinnamon
Cook oatmeal as you normally would. Add it to a bowl.
Chop up the dates.
Add a splash of almond milk, a drizzle of maple syrup, the chopped dates, and the pumpkin seeds to your oatmeal. Top with cinnamon.
That’s it! Easy + delicious.
