“Great things are not done by impulse,
but by a series of small things brought together.”
-vincent van gogh-
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take smaller steps.
If you’re in indecision, take smaller steps.
If you’re feeling unsure, take smaller steps.
If you’re feeling pressure, take smaller steps.
Focus on the step right in front of you. Put one foot in front of the other, and do so with trust that lots of little steps will lead you to your destination.
What could you do right now to bring yourself a little bit of relief? Is there any area of life where you could take the pressure off yourself, just a little bit?
What choice would bring you that relief? Maybe it’s one you hadn’t considered before. Maybe it’s a creative possibility you have yet to discover.
When we let go of the need to control the outcome, when we stop pushing and forcing, when we surrender, when we take smaller steps with more trust and more faith…that’s when life can unfold before our eyes. That’s when we can act from a place of more ease, more gentleness, more grace.
After all, what’s more powerful than gentleness?
Take a deep breath. Maybe take a few more deep, deep breaths.
Listen to a meditation.
Go into a float tank.
Let your body relax so your mind can calmly help you figure out your next step.
When you let yourself get quiet, you might hear the message, “create more space.”
Create more space for possibility.
More space between you and the specific outcome. More space for magic. More space for life to rush in. More space for pure presence, instead of living in future stories. More space for taking smaller, more intentional steps. Take the steps that feel right. The steps that feel aligned. The steps that feel like freedom and expansiveness. If you don’t know what that step is yet, take an even smaller step. You don’t have to rush.
You’ll get there.
You are “there” already. Celebrate today. This is your life.
