Hello, my little explorers.
I just got home from the book launch party for The Stimulati Experience, a book by one of my closest friends for the past 10 years, Jim Curtis.
I’m VERY excited to say that I officially have a blurb on the back of the book. I know that doesn’t make me a published author or anything, but you have to admit, it KIND OF does.
Here is my blurb, which also shows up on the Amazon page. This thrills me. It’s the little things, ok!?
“The Stimulati Experience will give you the confidence and strength to elevate your life, find the healing you’re looking for, and drop the stories that are holding you back from your true power. Jim’s boundless courage to share his quest, his belief in limitless possibility, and his incredible stories of triumph will touch your heart, open your mind, and ignite your spirit.”
―Jenny Sansouci, founder of HealthyCrush.com
I’d say that’s some pretty fine blurb writing.
So, you’re probably wondering, what exactly IS the Stimulati Experience!?
When Jim was in his 20s, he was diagnosed with a mysterious chronic illness that affected his life dramatically. He lived for many years in a lot of pain, depression, denial and struggle, until he embarked on a mission to find healing and strength — a mission that introduced him to the people who he calls The Stimulati. He learned countless lessons from The Stimulati for healing the mind, body and spirit, and today he is happier and healthier than he’s ever been in his life.
All of his stories and lessons he learned along the way make up his book, The Stimulati Experience: 9 Skills for Getting Past Pain, Setbacks, and Trauma to Ignite Health and Happiness
Jim’s Story
Here’s a little bit of Jim’s story from his speech at the book launch tonight.
“One day, I woke up and got into the shower and I couldn’t feel any hot water on my left foot. Being a 20 year old guy, I did what you simply do – and I ignored it.
About a month later, as the numbness moved up to my thigh and I had excruciating pain in my back and migraines, I did what any 20 year old guy would do then – I told my mother.
She was an ER nurse at Boston Medical Center, so she is used to gun shot wounds and motorcycle accidents. And when I told her, this is the first time I became truly fearful about what could potentially happen to me – because she freaked out.
Soon, MRIs and spinal taps and everything happened, and what it revealed is that there were lesions wrapped around my spinal cord. Not the summer I had planned, but something I’m forever, forever grateful for.
Over the next 5 years, I was so focused on finding a diagnosis, that I ignored when the rest of my leg went numb and I started to walk with a limp.
I was so focused on the anxiety of not knowing what was wrong with me, that I ignored when I started to alienate my friends and family.
Over the next 10 years, when I was so focused on just getting out of bed…I started to ignore life.
It wasn’t until I met these people that I now call the Stimulati – those people that can inspire passion, vision, hope and excitement in you – that I started to heal.”
Here’s a 4 minute video I took at the book launch. (I know, I know, I didn’t take the video with the right dimensions for YouTube…just ignore that and enjoy the message!)
Here’s another video of Jim if you’d like to get to know him better.
I’m so proud of Jim for writing this book and I’m honored to be a part of it. One of my favorite feelings is seeing one of my friends really step up with courage and vulnerability and share something that’s undoubtedly difficult to share, but that’s going to help so many people.
Jim, you are one of my Stimulati!!

Hi Jenny, thanks for popping Jim on my radar. I saw your Instagram post and headed here to learn more. For those of us on a journey which includes chronic illness, Jim’s message is a game-changer. I plan to grab a copy of his book very soon.
Thanks again for sharing.
