I thought it would be a cute, fun and healthy Valentine’s Day idea to put together a meal of a bunch of aphrodisiac foods. I would have posted this earlier so you guys could do it too, but I just got the idea at 11pm the night before V-Day…c’est la vie. The good news is you can eat these loving energy foods any day of the year. :)
I did some research, listened to a few David Wolfe interviews on aphrodisiacs, and put together some of the top aphrodisiac foods. Every food I included here has been highly regarded as an energy-packed aphrodisiac. Most of them are raw (the only things that aren’t raw are the coconut milk and coconut milk ice cream in the smoothie). Not to mention they all taste amazing too. Have fun spreading the love!
Chocolate Maca Aphrodisiac Smoothie
This smoothie is thick, creamy and full of antioxidants and aphrodisiac power. You will have so much happy, buzzing energy after drinking this!
By the way…this makes an entire blender full of smoothies.
- 4 tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1 tbsp Maca powder
- Fresh mint leaves
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup coconut or almond milk
- 1/2 cup coconut milk ice cream
- Fresh vanilla bean (use the seeds, scraped from inside of pod)
Blend all ingredients together and serve. Feel the love!
Aphrodisiac Fruit Salad with Ginger-Honey Glaze
All of these fruits are known aphrodisiacs (in fact, I think all fruits are, really). This particular combination is sweet, fresh and decadent. Perfect to feed to your valentine! The ginger and honey glaze adds an energy-packed kick.
- Mango
- Strawberries
- Peaches
- Pineapple
- Fresh finely chopped ginger
- 2 tbsp raw honey
Chop up the fruit into bite-sized pieces, put into a bowl. To turn raw honey into liquid, put in glass bowl and set the bowl in hot water to melt the honey. Mix chopped ginger with raw honey. Pour over fruit and mix. Eat. Smile.
Spicy Avocado Aphrodisiac Dip
Avocados, being the perfect food, are great for everything. Its no surprise they are also aphrodisiacs. Combined with chili peppers, you get an unbeatable creamy, spicy love dip.
- 3 avocados, mashed
- Finely chopped garlic (1 clove)
- Finely chopped chili peppers (or red pepper flakes)
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
- Pinch of sea salt
- Carrot and celery sticks for dipping
Blend the avocados with the garlic, chili peppers, sea salt and lemon juice. Use carrots and celery (also aphrodisiacs) to dip.
Aphrodisiac Almonds
- Raw almonds
Serve in a bowl. Almonds are perfect all by themselves.
Raw Chocolate Bars
The ultimate aphrodisiac. These bars are made by Brooklyn’s own Fine & Raw.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, delicious Valentine’s Day…and be sure to enjoy these aphrodisiac energy foods all year! xoxoxo
