Over the summer, I assisted Kris Carr at her retreat at the Omega Institute. As part of the Crazy Sexy Life weekend, I had the privilege of taking yoga classes from the lovely + talented Elena Brower. Her method of teaching yoga was beautiful and inspiring, and I left the weekend with a new viewpoint on the world from her guidance.
I really wanted to take another yoga class from Elena, but since her studio is in Manhattan and I live in Brooklyn, it has been more convenient for me to take classes close to my apartment (I know, life is hard). ;)
Anyway, point is, I recently stumbled upon YogaGlo.
YogaGlo offers online yoga classes from top yoga instructors (including Elena – yay)! They have classes in ALL different kinds of yoga – Vinyasa flow, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Anusara, and even beginners, meditation and restorative classes. There are classes of different lengths so you can take a class that is convenient for you. SO AWESOME.
This is super timely because right now I’m in the midst of my own personal yoga challenge – to take 20 yoga classes each month in October, November and December. I was just on the phone with my mom this week, saying “when I come home for Thanksgiving, can we find some yoga classes to go to?” Now, no matter what, I know I can take a full 90-minute yoga class from the comfort of my own home with YogaGlo. I AM PSYCHED!!
The bottom line is this: there is something sweet, soulful and definitely life-changing from physically being in a yoga class with a teacher and other students. But if you can’t get to a yoga class, you’re traveling, you have a specific teacher you want to learn from that isn’t near you, or you just don’t feel like trekking outside, YogaGlo is a seriously awesome resource.
Believe me, I’m a fan of yoga DVDs too, but those are just the same class over and over. YogaGlo uploads new classes all the time, so you can take different classes every day.
$18/month for unlimited classes is way cheaper than most yoga studios (plus you can get a 15-day free trial)! I’m loving it.
Have you tried YogaGlo? What do you think?
