Juice Feasting

by jenny sansouci on July 1, 2008

so. update on the dr. schulze liver cleanse i went on a little while ago. after the 5 day cleanse, i felt amazing and didn’t want to start eating normally again because i was so detoxed. i began eating normal foods slowly (fruit, veggies, etc) but i continued to drink my garlic drinks in the morning – i started to seriously love them. i just can’t get enough of those darn things. garlic, ginger, olive oil, orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, and water.

i am on a juice feast. feast, not fast. you heard correctly. it’s called a juice “feast” because you drink tons of different juices in order to get all the nutrients you need. I don’t even get hungry. I can drink juice all day. this includes fruit juice, vegetable juice, and adding superfood green powder to juices. (my personal favorite so far is Boku). The reason for the juice feast is because I just felt like 5 days wasn’t enough detoxing. On Sunday I ate at Village Natural and I had my favorite meal there, tofu & broccoli with peanut sauce. This was not the right food to have after finishing a cleanse, and I felt like crap. Therefore, I went back on a 3-day juice feast. I have a strong feeling that juice feasting will become a big part of my lifestyle, and I’ve been doing significant research on the topic. More to come.
